Our oldest Elementary Engineers spent last week thinking like package engineers. Their challenge was to design a package that would keep a plant healthy for several days while it sat on a store shelf.
Once their packages were complete, a local package engineer stopped by to check them out. His visit was engaging and illustrated that the skills introduced through the engineering curriculum are directly transferable to the services that his company provides every day. We especially enjoyed hearing about his products and the dialogue between him and the students as they explained their packages.
